Whatever the weather this Half Term, we want to help you & your children get outdoors and enjoy the benefits of nature!

With so much to do in the UK this Half Term, we've come up with 5 ideas that are always great fun:

1. Go on a family walk

There are so many walks to do across the UK. You could try out a new route or take a picnic with you. Keeping your children warm is important, if you are dressed appropriately then you can have hours of fun. Put your lined wellies on and bring some hot chocolate along to stay extra toasty!

2. Go on a half term getaway

  • From Scotland to Cornwall, the UK is beautiful.

Half term is a great opportunity to plan a mini getaway to spend memorable moments with the family. Going on a trip can be a great way to relax, explore new places and make some childhood memories. The best way to go on a trip is to plan ahead, and bring along some travel essentials.

3. Gardening with the family

  • With Spring around the corner, you can make a start on the garden.

Now is a great time to make a start on tidying up the garden or allotment, and plant some veggies. We would recommend planting some tomatoes or Cucumber seeds! Gardening is great for your childrens health and it will help them develop! 4. Do a National Trust Event

  • There are plenty of family-friend outdoor events in Half Term.

The National Trust organise plenty of fun events for the you and the little ones, such as February half-term Welly Wander or the Snowdrop Stories trail! All of the events are listed on their website and cover many areas across the UK, you can find them here >

Remember to take your wellies and maybe even pop on a pair of dungarees and jump in some muddy puddles!

5. Visit a Farm

  • Teach your little one the importance of UK Farming.

This is always a fun day out with the children. Taking a trip to a local farm can help to teach your little ones about all the work it takes to keep the farm running and the animals happy. This may even inspire them to become farmers themselves one day. At most farms, children can get up close to the farmyard animals and there are often many activities during the Half term.

It is worth checking the local farms in your area and see what events they will have on during the Half Term... just remember to pack your wellies for the trip!
