Almost 6 months before Christmas, Saturday 24th June, it is Shop Independent Day. This was started by Holly Tucker. To spread the importance of supporting small businesses across the UK.

Here’s what Holly has to say about the campaign:

“We’re passionate about cheerleading independents all year round, but during the summertime and at Christmas we launch extra special campaigns to raise awareness of all the ways people can support small, and why it is vital to do so”

The campaign originally started in 2017, and has since had much success, including their first ever annual Independent Awards.

Holly Tucker has worked with many fantastic artists, as such; Rebecca Strickson. These artists have created limited edition art for Shop Independent Day.

Wet Wednesdays

At Wet Wednesdays we are passionate about small changes as we know that they always lead to a big difference. We have not only proudly displayed our #CampaignShopIndependent poster but will also post on social media as well as supporting other local businesses!

Wet Wednesdays has remained Independent as this is the only way for us to keep our prices low & our quality high!

Keeping them affordable for families struggling through the financial crisis in the UK.

 “We LOVE Wet Wednesdays! Artie always sports his waterproof jacket and trousers for all outdoor adventures and always has the best time doing so. it’s so durable and still looks brand new after lots of washes! I especially love the pattern of the jacket and the peak on the hood which is such a good feature. We also always get stopped to ask where the jacket is from! I can’t wait to add more to the collection. I highly recommend.”

  • Make the effort to leave reviews for your favourite small businesses on Facebook, Google or Trustpilot etc.
  • Like, Share and Comment on their social media posts!
  • If you have a small business of your own, help support other small businesses in the same way you would want them to support yours.
