If you have a passion for horses, then you will want to know the Top Equestrian Events of the Year. Growing up working at Agricultural shows and having a love for horses, we developed a deep appreciation for these beautiful creatures.

So here is our guide for all the best 2025 equestrian events in the UK!

2025 Equestrian Events

We have listed them by date (Please check dates with the events official websites as they are subject to change):

1. Cheltenham Festival

The Cheltenham Festival is a horse jump racing-based meeting in the National Hunt racing calendar. While it is primarily known for its horse racing, the Cheltenham Festival is one of the most iconic events in the equestrian world. It features some of the most prestigious races, as well as huge crowd of racing enthusiasts.

2. Windsor Horse Show

This prestigious show is known for its competitions in dressage, show jumping, and carriage driving, all set within the historic Windsor Great Park. They also feature amazing International equestrian displays, such as: the Musical Ride of the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment.

3. Badminton Horse Trials

This is one of the most tough and exciting events in the equestrian calendar, featuring dressage, show jumping, and a challenging cross-country course. It takes place in May each year in the park of Badminton House and is a five-day event. It is one of only seven annual Concours Complet International Five Star events as classified by the Fédération Équestre Internationale.

4. The Great Yorkshire Show

A family friendly, agricultural show which features equestrian events, such as: a mix of show jumping, showing. We love the focus on rural life at the Great Yorkshire Show. It is a four-day agricultural show held annually in Harrogate, North Yorkshire celebrating agriculture, food, farming, and countryside. 

5. The Royal Isle of Wight County Show

This agricultural show is family-friendly event that highlights the best of the Isle of Wight. It's held at the Isle of Wight County Showground in Northwood and is a popular regional event for combining show jumping and cross-country competitions.

6. Royal International Horse Show

This is the oldest horse show event in the world! it is one of the major show jumping competitions in the UK. This show features the top international riders and also showcasing other disciplines such as dressage, driving, and showing. A firm favourite five-star show jumping and championship event. It takes place each year in West Sussex, England

7. The Scottish Horse Show

A favourite for equestrians that love a traditional show. They feature eventing, showing, and pony club activities. This show has twenty of the top equestrian judges in the world at this event.

8. Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials

A major event in the eventing world, featuring cross-country, dressage, and show jumping disciplines within the stunning Burghley Estate. This is a popular three-day equestrian event that takes place at Burghley House in Lincolnshire, England. As well as testing the ability of the horse and rider in the variety of competitions, there is also lots for visitors to do here. Such as: the Defender experience.

9. Horse of the Year Show (HOYS)

One of the most anticipated events in the UK, the HOYS is a highlight for show jumping and show horses. It features top-level competitions in various disciplines. Such as: show jumping and the famous “Mini Major” pony jumping.

10. The London International Horse Show

London International Horse Show is an elite competition. It features top level show jumping, dressage and Driving World Cups. It was formerly known as the Olympia London International Horse Show, and it is held over six days during the week preceding Christmas.

Some of these shows are renowned for their competitive spirit, beauty, and the stunning performances from top-level riders. These Equestrian events are widely regarded as some of the best in the UK for their world-class competitions and stunning venues.
