Size Guide Help- All in Ones
This guide is to help you chose the right size puddle suit for your little one.

This is Livy, she is nearly 5 years old.
108cm - Height.
49cm - Inside Leg (Inseam).
These pictures show her wearing our 5-7 years All in One. She wears our 4-5 years in our trousers and 5-7 years in our jacket.
She is the average height for a 5 year old but has more of a slim build.
You can see what a difference it makes by scrunching the sleeve and tightening the velcro.
When looking at our size guide for your little one, we recommend checking their height, the cuff to cuff measurement and the snail measurement to get the perfect size puddle suit.
Taking this measurement and comparing it to our back measurement will help you see how much room they will have in the body.
The Snail Measurement.
The snail measurement is from the nape or the neck and down their back.

Livy wears a 5-7 in an ALL IN ONE with a snail measurement of 59cm so she has around 7cm of room as she needs that length in the body as her body is long.
To choose the correct size for an all in one measure your child from the nape (bottom) of the neck to between the legs (Crotch). This is to make sure they have room so your child can crouch and bend.
You don’t want the all-in-one to be too long in the body as your child will struggle to ride their bike, play and run if the crotch is hanging too low.
| Back Measurement | 1-2 years | 2-3 years | 3-4 years | 4-5 years | 5-7 years | 7-8 years |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| All in Ones | 51.5cm | 55.5cm | 59cm | 63cm | 66.5cm | 70cm |
This measurement is for our All in Ones & Fleece Lined All in Ones
The Cuff to Cuff Measurement.
Also known as the scarecrow measurement, this will help you find the right length in the sleeve for your little ones. Often a childs height is a similar measurement to their cuff to cuff measurment but it is always worth double checking before you buy.

In the photo above, Liv is 108cm in height and her cuff to cuff measurement is around 106cm, this means her fingertips are only just visible. She is then able to scrunch up the sleeves and secure with the velcro straps. This allows the all in one to have growth for your children.
| Cuff to Cuff Measurement | 1-2 years | 2-3 years | 3-4 years | 4-5 years | 5-7 years | 7-8 years | 9-11 years | 12-14 years |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| All in ones | 78cm | 86cm | 94cm | 102cm | 110cm | 118cm | 136cm | 156cm |
This measurement also applies to our Outdoors Rain Jackets, Outdoor Fleece Lined Jackets, & the Fleece Lined & Unlined Scandi Jackets.
Inside Leg Measurement.
This is a measurement we always recommend when it comes to Dungarees, Trousers and the All in Ones.

It is super simple to do, all you need to do is measure from the crutch area down to the ankle.
You don’t want the all-in-one to be too long in the body as your child will struggle to ride their bike, play and run if the crotch is hanging too low.
Remember to put the cuff of the ankle OVER the wellies so the water runs onto the floor and does not go inside the wellies
When your child wears wellies, you are able to scrunch up the legs slightly. Then as your child grows, and if they start to ride up the leg. There are underfoot straps which go underneath the gap of a wellington or boot. This prevents the dungaree/trousers from riding up the leg.
| Inside Leg | 1-2 years | 2-3 years | 3-4 years | 4-5 years | 5-7 years | 7-8 years |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| All in Ones | 30cm | 35cm | 40cm | 45cm | 50cm | 55cm |
The Inside measurements applies to both unlined and fleece lined outerwear.
Fitting your Puddle Suit
Liv is nearly 5 years old, and although she can still fit into her old waterproofs age 4-5 years, she is wearing a 5-7 years puddle suit in the photos. As you can see it is a little big in the arms and legs which will give her plenty of growth. This is because she can scrunch up the extra room on the arms and legs.

You can see on the left there is plenty of growing room on the arms and legs, with just enough room in the body to allow for room to play. You can see the same suit fitted with wellies on the right. The sleeve have been srunched up and secured with velcro straps. Then the legs have been srunched up with the elasticated ankle over the wellies.
Outerwear always looks much larger than it is when laid flat. This is why we always recommend trying on first.
Height & Size Guide Measurement
We always recommend trying on the waterproofs before assuming that they are too large. All of our outerwear is designed with room to play, bend and climb in mind.
