Halloween Party Games for Kids Guide
Spooky Season & Halloween are around the corner, so start planning a memorable Halloween bash with these kids Halloween party games. Perfect for indoors or outdoors!
5 Fun Kids Halloween Games That Can Be Played Indoors & Outdoors:
1. Worm Pie
This game can get a little bit messy, but it is great fun & the adults can take part too!
Get some gummy worms, and place 4 or 5 in the bottom of a shallow bowl or on a paper plate, and then cover with whipped cream.
Players need to start with their hands behind their back and dig in with their faces to pull out or eat all of the gummy worms in their ‘worm pie’
2. Obstacle Couse
This is super fun whether it is indoors or outdoors! All you need are some household items or maybe a few Halloween props to help.
You could build your obstacle course with:

- Broomsticks – to ride like a witch
- Cardboard boxes – Use some cardboard boxes to create a spooky tunnel for the kids to crawl through.
- An inflatable pool – You could fill the kids pool with cooked (but cooled down) spaghetti and hide Halloween related items for the kids to find before moving onto the next obstacle. If you don’t mind messy play, you could even mix in some fake blood with the spaghetti.
- Apples in water- A classic at Halloween, they have to bob for apples in the water.
- Hula hoop and string – You could get some string and make it look like a spider and spread some webs inside the hula hoops, make sure to leave a hole big enough for the kids to climb through.
- (If you’re outside) Haybale- they would have to jump over the hay bales before moving on the next obstacle.
At the end of the race, all of the kids could win a Halloween treat!
3. Eyeball Spoon Race
Just like the egg & spoons race except you can use something to resemble eyeballs. You could paint some hard-boiled eggs (make sure they have cooled) or you could use ping pong balls and paint them.
Once you have you ‘eyeballs’ ready, the children need to hold out their spoon and balance their ‘eyeball’ on the spoon until they cross the finish line! If it falls off their spoon or they are caught holding it on the spoon, then they are out of the race. If you have a group of children, you can put them into teams.
4. Scarecrow Contest
This one is great fun & the adults could take part too! Firstly, you will need to get some old clothes, something that a scarecrow would wear; and then you would also need to get ‘stuffing’.

This could be some pumpkins for a head, and then some old pillows, old tights, or old plastic bags to use as stuffing;
If you are outside, you could use hay!
Once you have these items ready, put the children in to teams and give them a certain amount of time to build a scarecrow, this could be 10-20 minutes.
You could then give out an ‘award’ or treats for the best or scariest scarecrow.
5. Kids Halloween Party Games: Skeleton Hunt
This one can be either be in the house or outside in the garden. First of all, you will need to get some toy skeleton bones, you can find these in pound stores usually a few weeks before Halloween.
Once you have your skeleton bones, you will need to hide them around the play area, and then the kids need to find them!
f you have a group of children, put them into teams, and the first team to find the bones and assemble a skeleton, wins!
This is one of our favourite kids Halloween party games.
At the end of the race, all of the kids could win a Halloween treat!

Remember If you get up to any spooky adventures outdoors, wear your favourite outerwear!
