30 Things to Do For Random Acts of Kindness Day
Each February there is a Random Acts of Kindness Day, where people are encouraged to do these acts of kindness. Even the smallest gesture can brighten someone’s day! If you need ideas, we’ve come up with some for you.
30 Random Acts of Kindness:
- Call a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while.
- Run an errand for a family member or friend who is busy.
- Return the trolley for people who work at your supermarket.
- Compliment someone that you talk to today.
- If you have a pet, make time to play with them today.
- Hold doors open for people.
- Put your phone away in the company of others, be present.
- If someone only has a few items, let them cut in front of you in a queue.
- Donate unused items to charity
- Send flowers to a friend.
- Offer to babysit for a friend.
- Tell your family members how much you love and appreciate them.
- Help a friend get active.
- Put a surprise note or drawing on someone’s desk.
- Engage in conversation with a shop assistant when paying at the till.
- Sign up to do voluntary work in your local community.
- Tell someone you know why you are thankful for them.
- Send an inspirational quote to a friend.
- Make and send a care package to someone who needs it.
- Offer to pick up a friend or family member from work.
- Make a cup of tea for your colleagues.
- Say good morning.
- Bake a cake for your colleagues.
- Give praise to your colleague for something they’ve done well.
- Take someone out for lunch instead of eating at your desk.
- Give up your seat to an elderly, disabled or pregnant person.
- Let a fellow driver merge into your lane.
- Pick up some rubbish lying around in the street.
- Smile and say hello to people you may pass every day, but have never spoken to before.
- If you hear that discouraging voice in your head, tell yourself something positive… you deserve kindness too.
