Wet Wednesdays named ‘Best Buy’ in Independent’s IndyBest Puddlesuits for Children

1st June 2019

Wet Wednesdays All-in-One Overall for children has been selected as the Independent’s Best Buy in a news story dedicated to puddlesuits.

"This just feels like the real McCoy: we love the exterior – a soft, tactile rubbery finish with reinforced fabric on the bottom and knee areas”

— said Martha Alexander who wrote the story

Wet Wednesdays is a small business run from rural Wales by an all-female team. Lizzie Enriquez started the business in 2014 having moved from Cornwall to Wales, where her daughter lived in waterproof suits. But Lizzie found that many of the suits she bought her children ripped easily and leaked. So, she set about designing her own – ultimately, she looked to Scandinavia to source her materials and manufacturers.

Georgia Williams joined the team in 2017, covering Jess Robbins’ maternity leave. They work together in a bright, playful office complete with a crazy grass floor!

The Wet Wednesday’s ethos is one where fun and play take centre stage: the weather is not to be avoided or conquered and the company champions outdoor learning supplying Forest Schools and nurseries across the UK with their range of amazing, robust waterproofs.

We also offer lightweight wellies, hats, coats, dungarees and trousers from babies to teens.

“Being the Indy’s ‘Best Buy’ is a dream come true and what we have worked towards for so long. We are over the moon because we have always believed so strongly in what we do and it’s fantastic to know that the product is getting the recognition it deserves. We believe that childhood ends the moment a puddle is first viewed as an obstacle instead of an opportunity.”
